Distractions

So I added another couple of strips to the blanket and a few more rows to the hood but I've been really distracted lately by work things.  So what do I do but cast on a little quickie project.  Just what the doctor ordered cute little booties!

            Booties

I got the pattern for these booties from Brynne.  They are very easy and quite addictive.  I changed the pattern just a bit because I wanted them to be mostly garter stitch to match the Baby Albert sweater.  I think that I will have a lot of yarn left over so I may have enough to make another pair to give away.

It was actually sunny and warm yesterday so while I was posing booties on the azaleas I also caught this little guy in my mini rhododendron.

I'm hoping that today I can get the hood done on the Baby Albert and then I want to make some headway on the log cabin blankie.

3 WIPs

So I have actually been knitting lately and I have a few new WIPs to share

1.  A Baby Albert in Lorna's Laces DK Swirl.  I am almost done, all it needs it the hood finished and some ends woven in.  A special thank you to our model Bitty Baby.

          Ssweater

2.  A log Cabin Baby blanket in Cascade Sierra and Needful Yarns Elba.  This has been great TV knitting, just pick up the stitches and knit then bind off and repeat.

3.  So all this baby knitting may lead you to wonder what's going on...

That's right, number 4 is on her way!  She's due to make her apperance around the end of August or the begining of September they can't seem to agree on a date.   Poor J was really disapointed when we found out it's another girl.  He already thinks there is too much pink around here.  The poor boy he has to share a bathroom with all these girls!

So that's what I've been working on. I also have a new sock going but that doesn't really count.

I'll take that as a campliment.

So Tee-Ball games began last week and like every year I signed up for my day as snack mom.  I picked this weekend's game only because I wanted to get it out of the way and this way I was less likely to forget.  When I asked J what he wanted us to bring he said chocolate chip cookies and red vines.  In my kids opinion chocolate chip cookies means homemade so Friday I made 3 dozen and packaged them up with a few red vines in each one.

The thing is as I was passing them out I overheard on mom say "Well aren't we a little Martha".  I really think that she meant it as a put down.  Luckily I didn't see who said it.

What I want to know is when did it become so bad to do your best?  I had the bags and the stickers so should I have put it all in ziplocks or even bought cookies just to make the mom who picks up a box of granola bars feel better.  BTW, I don't look down on the Mom who does that, I understand that we are all busy.  So I'm choosing to take the Martha comment as a compliment and I'm not going to stop doing my best and putting a special touch on life when I can.

Tomorrow some news and actual knitting content.

Easter

So Easter was a low key event around here this weekend.  I got the girls their Easter dresses but they are sleeveless and anyone who has been to Washington in April knows that won't do.  So what is a knitter to do but knit a few adorable angora boleros*?

            Jkmeaster

M didn't know what to make of the egg hunt but it didn't take her long befor she was filling her basket (and stealing from her sister's basket too!).

            Measter

Of course this is Washington so by the time dinner was over and the grandparents were leaving it was raining so this is how J and K spent their Easter evening.

            Jksplashing

They got totally soaked but they were having so much fun and we had no place we had to go so why not?

*I used Classic Elite Lush and both boleros only took 2 skeins.  I did them top down raglan style and then picked up stitches around.  They were way easy and the Lush certainly lives up to it's name.
