SNOW!!!!!

IT IS SNOWING!!!! 

So Hubby thinks that I am completely nuts because I have been downright giddy since about 9:00 tonight when we discovered it was snowing.  I've been so excited and it's all I can do not to go out there right now.  It really hasn't let up at all and it looks like we've already got at least two inches!!!  Hubby is from West Virginia and just doesn't understand that to a Washington girl like me snow is something that happens once maybe twice a year.  It's like Christmas, only colder.  I can not wait till tomorrow when we get to go play in it.  Little Man will stay out till he is blue but I'm not sure about the Bug she was only one and a half last year when it snowed but she really had no use for it at all.  I hope this year she has a little more fun out there. 

Well on the knitting front I finished the hood on the Einstein.  Now all I have to do is sew the hood and wait to see if this little one is a girl or a boy and pick out buttons.  Still no pics, but I'll put Hubby onto the task of getting the printer and computer on speaking terms tomorrow. 

So now I need to go stare at the snow some more before I make myself go to bed.

You'll just have to believe me.

Well I've made a little progress on the Einstein,  the sleeves are done and seamed (just a little Dove dark chocolate with me on sleeve island).  And the hood is about 3/4 of the way done.  I even took a picture but my printer is in a snit and won't read my memory card and I can't find the other card reader.  (O.K. that's not true it's 11:20 at night and I don't feel like looking for it.)  So maybe tomorrow it will behave and you can have a picture.  I also pulled out the cardigan that I told you about earlier.  I took a picture of that too but well you know...  I've decided that it needs a name and since it's all ribby like and cabled and hasn't been blocked it's going to be the skinny cardie.  Hopefully I'll be finished with it before I'm not so skinny anymore. 

So as I've been surfing around this week I'm seeing all these people making knitting resolutions.  Some of them are really detailed like Julia and some are simple like Brynne.  But they all seem so determined. I've got some ideas in my head that I may commit to but I've never been a real resolutions kind of gal.  We'll see what I come up with when I'm awake at 5:00 in the morning tomorrow.  I have developed this nasty habit of waking up at 5 AM tossing and turning for about a hour and a half and then falling back to sleep about a half hour before I have to get up.  It is really getting old, fast.  I get Little Man up about a half hour later and he always asks for a few more minutes and hides under his covers.  I so know how he feels, but I didn't think this would start for another 10 years or so!  I'm just hoping for snow, I could really use a good snow day right about now.

I'm going to bed now and I'll arm wrestle the printer tomorrow to get some pictures up.  Think white...

So I'm back already

Well when your little sis starts razzing you (see the comments from the last post) and your Hubby gives you a great plug over at his blog (Hamilton's Pamphlets) you realize that you gotta post again.

Today was a good knitting day in that much progress was made on the Baby Einstein.  This is the best pattern for people like me who HATE to sew things up I love the knitting just can't stand the finishing but I am getting better.  Also today was as Little Man (age 4) puts it "knitting lady day".  I have a couple of ladies from our church who come over and I have taught them to knit.  It's really fun and we talk and knit. I don't usually get a lot done because I'm helping them but I love sharing and spreading this sickness I mean obsession no I mean addiction no hobby that's it it's a hobby I could quit anytime really I could...  but any-who it's a lot of fun and it makes me vacuum the dog hair in the front room. 

On the baby front I'm starting to feel better so I think that I might tackle one of the projects that I've been hiding from.  It's a cardigan/jacket from the latest Vogue knitting and I've got the back, both sleeves and one front done.  Just one more cabled front piece to go and then it's seam city for me.  I may just have to have a seaming party ala Fluffa! but what does one drink when you can't really drink... maybe a nice hot decaf mocha.  If I get it done soon enough I may actually get to wear it before I get as big as a house.  If not it will be nice to have something new to wear next fall.

I've also got a poncho design floating around in my head.  I already designed one that I love but I want one for when the baby comes that I can use when I'm breast feeding.  I don't want it too warm or I may cook the little one.  But I also want a little coverage so that I can nurse anywhere I need to.  Things to think about when I'm lying awake tonight at 4 AM.  More on that later.
