So Tee-Ball games began last week and like every year I signed up for my day as snack mom. I picked this weekend's game only because I wanted to get it out of the way and this way I was less likely to forget. When I asked J what he wanted us to bring he said chocolate chip cookies and red vines. In my kids opinion chocolate chip cookies means homemade so Friday I made 3 dozen and packaged them up with a few red vines in each one.
The thing is as I was passing them out I overheard on mom say "Well aren't we a little Martha". I really think that she meant it as a put down. Luckily I didn't see who said it.
What I want to know is when did it become so bad to do your best? I had the bags and the stickers so should I have put it all in ziplocks or even bought cookies just to make the mom who picks up a box of granola bars feel better. BTW, I don't look down on the Mom who does that, I understand that we are all busy. So I'm choosing to take the Martha comment as a compliment and I'm not going to stop doing my best and putting a special touch on life when I can.
Tomorrow some news and actual knitting content.

she was probably jealous that she can't bake.. i think it looks wonderful!

That is a super great mom of you to take it to the next level if you could! Your kids will remember how much effort you put into their snack - I still remember my mom cutting my sandwiches with different cookie cutters - a nice touch that takes just 2 more seconds.
